Eroticon 2017 – Virtual Introduction
I’m very excited at the moment, because 4-5 March is Eroticon, and I’ll be heading to London for a few days, to join in the learning and fun for the first time. Attendees have been asked to post their answers to a few questions on their blogs, as a virtual introduction to themselves. So here’s mine:
NAME (and Twitter if you have one)
Ina Morata – unless you meet me in person, or you know me personally on Facebook, then you’ll also know me by another name! I answer to either. To be fair, I’ll answer to most things, especially “Here’s your chocolate.”
What are you hoping to get out of Eroticon?
As it’s the first time I’ve attended Eroticon, I’m really looking forward to spending some time with other writers and creatives who understand what erotica is about, and who actively encourage talk and writing on erotic subjects, and on writing more generally. I’m also excited to learn from all those attendees who are so much more skilled at what they do than I am.
And I really hope not to embarrass myself by dropping food down my front. Fishing it out is a nightmare!
This year’s schedule is pretty full on but which 4 sessions do you already have marked down as ones you want to attend?
This is a tough question, because I want to attend just about everything, and choosing four is almost impossible. But if my arm’s twisted, then on Saturday I’d love to hear Victoria Blisse talk about sensual erotica, and I definitely want to attend Ashley Lister’s plotting the erotic story (but I want to hear Kate Lister speak, too – and now I’m cheating!); on Sunday I want to go to Anna Sky’s session on tips for getting your work into print, and Rachel Kinkaid’s alternative endings.
Tell us one thing about yourself that not many people know.
When I was little, I was in a production of Sleeping Beauty – not as the princess, but as a bumble bee (what bumble bee?!) because I had a polo neck jumper that made me look like one. Boy, I miss my mum picking my clothes…!
If you made the papers, what would the headline be?
Technophobe found with satnav and Google maps, trying to find the end of her driveway. (Yes, I really am that bad!)
If you could have one skill for free, what would it be?
This is a really boring, sensible one, but I really would love the ability to write faster and stop my mind drifting about all over the place. Oh, and be able to use Scrivener without screaming at the screen! And draw ALL the parts of naked people accurately, not just SOME parts… Learn to count to one, maybe?!
Complete the sentence: I love it when…
I can arouse someone with my words…and when someone knows how to arouse me, just with theirs.
More on Eroticon tomorrow, and another exciting piece of news, but if you happen to be going, and you see someone cowering in the corner, come on over and say hello, because it’ll be me.
