In exactly four weeks I’ll be getting off a train, having had a wonderful few days in London. During that time I will have learned and laughed (and been a very good girl, honestly!) with some amazing people at Eroticon, some of whom will, no doubt, be familiar to you by name at least. This time around is my second visit to Eroticon, and hopefully there will be many more in the future. If you want to know what we’ll be getting up to, you can find the schedule here. Equally, if you are considering coming (which would be very exciting) and you want to grab yourself a ticket, you can still get hold of one. Find them here.
Just like last year, attendees have been set a series of ‘Meet and Greet’ questions. These are my answers for this year. Whether you think you’ve got to know me more by reading on, I daren’t imagine! You’ll have to let me know. Or dive for cover… π
Happy reading!

What are you most looking forward to about Eroticon 2018?
This is always such a difficult question! What’s fantastic is when you get to meet in person someone you’ve been fangirling over for quite a while (and I get the feeling I’ll be doing that again!). One of my top priorities is to ensure I attend the sessions on taboo and on writing longer erotica, both by Remittance Girl, and without doubt, Kayla Lords’ session on making money for your blog without selling your soul (partly because the ethics of it resonates with me, partly because I feel that fangirl thing happening already!). I’m actually looking forward to all the session based around the practicalities and the necessary processes of being a writer (including all the scary legal stuff).
But I’m rubbish at all the social goings-on, so if you happen to find me in the middle of a room, it’s probably because I got lost on my way to finding a corner to hide in. I have no sense of direction whatsoever…
We are creating a play list of songs for the Friday Night Meet & Greet. Nominate one song that you would like us to add to the play list and tell us why you picked that song.
You may think it corny, or you may just think it’s old, but ‘Nights in White Satin’ is my choice. I’ve been in love with this song for as long as I can remember; I’ve dreamt of spending nights in white satin (not alone, obviously!), although I never have, and, to put it bluntly, it makes me wet every single time I hear it. What else can I say? I’d be putty in the hands of a (k)night bearing white satin!
What’s the first career you dreamed of having as a kid?
Funny you ask this one because I recently found some very old school books dating back to when I was six. In one, it said, “I want to be an authoress” (clearly ‘writer’ just wasn’t posh enough!). I used to write and make little books all the time, sewing them together and putting illustrations on the front and back. The best thing I ever recall doing at primary school was when I was nine. We were given a thick exercise book and told we had to write a novel in it. I was in my element!
Weirdest place you’ve ever gotten up to mischief (define ‘mischief’ however you like…)?
Um… not terribly weird as such, but the ‘Education’ room of the library (yes, it really was called that), or maybe the desk in the private office of a lecturer, involving something to do with Turkish Delight. I might not elaborate further unless asked personally, other than to say that said lecturer was very much absent!
Tell us two truths and a lie about yourself.
Being the mystery fiction obsessive that I am, and having written my Masters dissertation on Agatha Christie, I own every book written by a crime writer in the interwar period.
I considered a career as a spy when I was a teenager, and I would still love to be one! A bit like the Mata Hari meets Margaret Rutherford playing Miss Marple. π
I want to have sex in the Pullman carriage of the Orient Express, MANY times, but particularly in Italy, and wearing a 1920’s dress while my lover wears a dinner suit. Although not for long.
I wonder if they have white satin sheets…?
Complete the sentence. I want…
Sir.

It would be lovely if you hopped over to the Eroticon website and read the other attendees’ Meet and Greets, too.
I would really like to be there… someday. Although, London in March, would rather be in summer: that would be July 20th this year. π Never would have guessed you wanted to be a spy! Have a great time, be social, live it up! No one’s going to frown upon you for being kinky, that’s why everyone’s there in the first place.

So you think the one about the spy was true? π I would love you to be there someday, too. If you’re that concerned about it being summer, how about you arrive in March and go back at the end of August? π

I would love that. I’ve never been in London for longer than 10 days.

Never having been before, I donβt know who easy it is to find people but I will be looking out as I fangirl my way around π

Even though there’s a lot of us there, it’s still all nice and cosy. It’s quite easy to spot someone – often without expecting to – or finding that you’re sitting next to them! (Fangirl experience from last year!) π

The seminars look really interesting so we are looking forward to it. I donβt think we count as erotic writers but I think we will learn a lot π

I would say you do! Or certainly sex bloggers. I’m positive you’ll learn stacks – definitely make sure you’ve got notebooks, although there’s usually some in the goody bag. Are you going to the Friday night meet and greet, too?
LikeLiked by 1 person
Yes we are. And I will def bring a notebook. Let me know if you think of any other handy tips. I think the flights tie in well enough though you can never tell how long it will take to get places. Sir is from London originally so at least we wonβt be relying on the country mouse to get us sorted out! So excited as we havenβt had time away along together for ages and to do something kink related will be even better.

Of course I will! You’ll have an absolute ball, I can promise you. I was wondering if I should go on Friday as my train gets in quite late and it’s a fast turnaround, but you’ve just made my mind up now! π

Yay. I think our flight gets in about 5 so we should be in plenty time. Do you have far to travel?

It’s a faffy trip – half an hour bus ride, then a three hour train ride, then arguing my way over to the East End to my accommodation. Then turning round and coming all the way back on the Tube again! All with no sense of direction! π

We are staying nearby so itβs ok. Sounds tricky.

Excellent choice of songs. I have three copies of that album and have seen the Moody Blues in concert 5 times.

Wow! Now I’m just jealous! I’m just glad to own the 45″ single…!
Delighted that my song choice is appreciated. π

I’ve always been a fan of The Moody Blues and in my humble opinion Days of Future Past is their best by far.

That’s an absolutely gorgeous album.
Reckon I might be listening to The Moody Blues all the way to London in a few weeks!

Hi – I am probably new to you (as you are to me, but not for long…) I laughed because we had the same answer to the ‘career’ question. I love the sound of your crime fiction credentials too! I hope we bump into one another x

Hi! How lovely to βmeetβ you! Iβm pleased Iβm not the only one with a βcareerβ answer like that one. π
Yep, I love crime fiction, especially the mystery fiction sub-genre. I hope we bump into each other, too β weβll have to keep a lookout! x

How about we fangirl together? π And now I have that song in my head, so yay!!

Yay to that song! Fangirling together – sounds like a plan. With your entourage of fangirls, though, we could probably all do the conga! π

As long as I don’t have to be at the head of the conga line, let’s do this!

LOL. Of course you do! Youβre No. 1, remember?! π
And if we need the line to bend – a little kink – well, Iβm only five feet tall… π

It was amazing! We were given a whole half term, plus the Easter holidays to write it. I still remember it vividly, and I still have the ‘novel’. Some bizarre adventure story involving jackdaws and a secret chimney. I think I read too much Enid Blyton as a kid! π
