I was absolutely delighted to have my short story, “The Invisible Lover”, included in the very first Eroticon anthology, Identity, edited by the wonderful Anna Sky of Resonance Press, and accompanied by Tabitha Rayne’s beautiful artwork on the cover. It’s my complete honour to between the sheets of this book with such talented authors, who write with such strength and honesty, such knowledge and finesse. One of the huge strengths of this book is its diversity in the different authors’ treatment of the theme.
On a personal note, when I opened my copy (actually, I have three – one e-copy and two hard copies!) I was particularly thrilled to find myself pressed up next to my amazing friend and writer, Alun Norley, whose story I had had the great pleasure of reading, prior to publication.
Identity showcases a diverse collection of personal essays and stories by over twenty sex toy reviewers, non-fiction sex writers and erotic fiction authors. It boasts a breadth of talent from a range of new and established writers alike, all of whom are attendees of the 2017 Eroticon conference in London. It’s a sex-positive anthology, moving from the heteronormative to show a truly representative cross-section of erotic identity.
In this unique compilation, the central theme of identity is explored from many different angles. Some authors describe their personal identity as a writer, others how their fictional characters explore who they are through sex. Yet other writers examine the impact of erotic identity, sexuality or personality and how this is celebrated or for some, must remain hidden.
Identity tackles intimate topics such as BDSM, bisexuality and gender dysphoria with an honesty and clarity borne of experience, as well as stories of desire, erotic awakening and more.
Edited by Anna Sky and with cover art by Tabitha Rayne, Identity contains work by Velvl Ryder, Malin James, Eve Ray, Marie Rebelle, Meg-John Barker, Teresa Caves, sub-Bee, Emily Jacob, Jenny Guérin, Ella Scandal, Alun Norley, Ina Morata, Jerusalem “Jaime” Mortimer, Miss Ruby Rousson, cleareyedgirl, Heather Day, The Other Livvy, Zak Jane Keir, F.F. Sexton, Zoë King, Charlie Powell, BibulousOne, Emmeline Peaches and Girl on the Net.
Identity has received some superb, 5-star reviews, which is very exciting! You can read them here, but I’ve included a couple of snippets below:
“This collection shows that erotica and erotic writing can be far more varied and far more literary than many might think.” (Ian Smith) – and I was flabbergasted to find my story was one which received a special mention in this review!
“As diverse as the contributors themselves, and as beautiful as the cover suggests.” (S. Cooper)
The anthology is available for Kindle, and in hard copy (paperback). You can find Identity by clicking here.
